Our Industry Leading T&D Innovations panel at the IEEE PES T&D Expo last week featured Dominion’s Matthew Parker, DTE’s Bill Chiu and Eversouce Energy’s Asim Fazlagic. These executives discussed pilot project selections, internal innovation processes and some of the benefits they have seen on their systems.
Dominion Energy-mobile STATCOMS were an innovation that provided system support where it was needed when there was no time for permits. They are developing a modular GIS substation design. Working to evolve standards as they build.
DTE- innovative is limited by leadership not by the technical teams. They used AI to convert hand-wrtitten notes into usable information and plot customer feedback turning response time from hours to seconds. They are in a digital transformation.
Eversouce Energy- used 3D (and 4D schedule and 5D cost) for the first time on their underground 115kV substation in Cambridge, MA (see https://lnkd.in/g_mM_3FC). This Project of the Decade (IMO) required unique innovations from multiple engineering disciplines.
18,000 attendees. Great seeing you there.
